Re-tell lecture can be sometimes difficult for the students who are not accustomed to English lectures. But dont loose your heart, here are some of the tips that can work for you :-

1) Get accustomed to the accent of the English speakers. You can do this by listening to any lectures in English Language with captions. This particular tip is for those candidates who are finding it difficult to pick the right accent. Believe me keep watching and listening to such lectures and I am sure you'll benefit.

2) Make points quickly while listening to the lectures. 

3) Understand what the lecture is about. For instance : it may be related to pollution, mathematics, museum, education etc. 

4) You are also sometimes given the picture/ graph on the screen. This is quite helpful as you can atleast get a hint about what the lecture is about. If you are not able to write many points from the lecture then atleast you can speak about the information given in the picture or graph. 

5) Listen regularly to short or long lecture on You tube or similar websites. This is helpful to understand the accent.

6) If you dont have much content to speak about then slow down your pace for speaking and try to remember some of the key points and try to explain it.

How to excel in Repeat Sentence - PTE Academic Speaking module

Hi !

Many of the students encounter problem with " Repeat Sentence ". You may follow some of the tips that may help you achieve higher score in this module :-

1) Listen carefully to each and every word as you dont get a second chance to listen to the recording again.
2) You may write keywords to remember the sentence.
3) It is good to memorize what you have heard but it may take practice.
4) Listen to lot of listening stuff on the regular basis so that you get habituated to accent and speed of an English speaker.
5) While listening you may also turn on the " captions " so that when you listen, you can simultaneously read the words. This is a good for beginners.
6) You may listen to the lectures on You tube or any similar website.

How to get high score in Read Aloud - PTE Academic Speaking

Hi !

The first module you get in your exam is Speaking. The test begins with Read Aloud and you generally get 6-7 Read Alouds.

Now what can be done to get a higher score in it. Check the following tips which may help you :-


1) Speak at your natural pace.
2) Give stress/ emphasis on particular key word.
3) Take pauses if you get commas or colon etc.
4) Speak as if you are delivering a lecture and not simply reading just for the sake of completing the task. Take it as an opportunity.
5) Oral fluency and pronunciation should be kept in mind. If you don't know how to pronounce a particular word then take help from Google or your friends/ family.
6) Keep a good rhythm   - try not to speak too fast or too slow.

You can practice Read Alouds by reading articles online and you may also record your voice and check how you spoke. Improvement comes by practice and practice makes you perfect :)

Speaking PTE - Graphs Tips & Tricks

Sometimes you get too much or too less information in explaining the graphs which may include Line Graphs, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts to name a few. So what is the best strategy to tackle this problem ? You have to make a right strategy within 25 seconds so that you can easily explain the graph in 40 seconds.

Here are some of the tips that works for most of my students :-

1) Identify the inputs given in the graph. Check the inputs/ variables given in the X axis and Y axis. For example - You are sometimes given population, sales etc in the Y axis and years range in the X axis.

2) Check what the overall graph is about. It may be related to population density of different countries, sales in different companies etc. So you may start by saying - This line or bar graph illustrates/ gives information about ..................................

3) Sometimes there are too many lines in a single graph. Firstly check the highest point then the lowest point, check the similar patterns, trends ( increasing or decreasing or fluctuating etc ). For instance you can start by saying that the highest population amongst all the countries was recorded by USA which was around 50 millions in the year 2002 and the country with lowest population was France with a population of approximately .......................... . The two countries namely India and China has witnessed an almost similar trends in their population over the past 10 years. However, the population of India showed a dramatic increase after 2010 ..................................

4) You can use some connectors also to improve your speaking. You can use - However, It is interesting to see .............. , Although, Similarly, Overall, On the contrary.

5) Some terminologies that can be used for expressing the trends - Dramatic increase, Significant increase, Exponential increase, decreasing/ increasing trend, fluctuating trend, declined considerably, huge increase, rapid fall, etc.

6) You can also use - population of X was almost 3 times then Y country. The sales of company X was almost 1/3rd then the sales of company Y.


If the information is too less then my advice is to speak slowly and you can add some additional information as well related to the topic.

In the modern era, the tremendous increase and hysterical change in computer technology can be observed. Almost every essential work is done by the use of computers. This magnanimous technology plays a pivotal role, from flying a plane to do even a pity work in office as everything changes with a ticking clock, the future can be clearly seen though, hypothetically.

Putting my pen in, i would like to state that this technology has blessed the mankind with an ease of work. Knowing he resent outcomes, something more can be done in future . the use of artificial intelligence will be encouraged in terms of surgeries done by robots in addition to fully computerized classrooms. the transportation network by any means could be fully swelled by computer technology. The entrance and the exit of the house could be secured with different ways. Moreover, all the historical data analysis could be done easily and the risk of human errors will be nullified.

As the earth faces its twenty four hours in two ways- Day and night, there is oblivion too for the bright sides shown. firstly, the hazardous risk factor by next century  can make the human existence jeopardized where mankind could also be lost. The employment rate will drop down and living will be way to expensive. only highly skilled people will be able to work which will make poor people more poorer. As we know "health is wealth"- in the coming era, physical and mental disorder can also take place where obesity will be the main factor. some harmful radiations also may occur leading to different health conditions.

So, the final nail in the wood is that the computer technology should bless the mankind but not endanger it, that is we should develop and use this evil blessing in our limitations and not make it paradoxical.

In today's world artists play a prominent role in entertainment industry and has a profund impact on the masses. The artists indulge creativity with reality of life. The art, music, movies and various other artistic forms are restricted these days in particular terms. This interrupts the thinking of an artist.

In my notion, the diversity of entertainment forms has widen the horizons for artists in many fields. If the government restrictions are waived off then there may be an ease to show the real-time facts as the artists are the only source of entertainment. Moreover, there creativity will be fully revealed and financial fluidity will augment. An ad-on to the government is that they can advertise various campaigns through these artistic acts. Also the artists will be able to express their thoughts whole heartedly which will not leave any negative impact on the spectators. It will also give an audacity to individuals in context to express revolutionary ideas.

On the contrary, children may have a negative impact by the nuisance created through the vulgar lyrics or content which is misused. The religious values could be exploited which could lead to riots in society. Wrong messages, ideologies, obscene-nude content are the major factors that can hamper a lot of people. There might be any discomfort that  the children or the old people have to face.

So, the crux of it is that, the freedom to express should be expressed within the limitations by the artists so that there is no need of any restriction to put on. The artists must also follow the rituals and should not promote anything against the society. The restrictions by the government should be relevant and not  in protest of personal affairs.

These innovations does not only includes the technology but also a lot many things. Basically, the invention or even the development of the things need and use is an innovation. From pencil to a computer, a traditional recipe to a medicine-everything is an innovation.

This innovation could be a transformation, up gradation or invention in any aspect which has always played an impediment role in our lives. With the ever-increasing  demand of living, the need of innovation for savings of everything - including time has become a necessity. Although the concept of innovation is  quite diverse, we might see the forefront of the innovation being very prominent in today's world where it is nothing new that makes the standards of living always better with minute cons.

Mass communication is the process by which a person or a group of people creates a message and transmit it through some type of medium to a large audience . The medium can be newspaper,  social media, radio, etcetera .The mass communication has profound effect on society  .Although it has demerits and merits which is I am going to explain in following paragraphs. 

First and foremost , now a days the mass communication plays a significant role in transmitting thoughts as well as it becomes a resource to gain   knowledge. The media   is a great source of mass communication. It can help people to understand but is happening around the world and even in a more informative   way .People get  daily information by newspaper given by the hawkers on very cheap rates . Even though, the communication by radio helps physically challenged people to gain more information which is not accessible by other means. Moreover, the mass communication has a vast career opportunities, without age bar. The mediums of communication plays an important role to enhance the general  knowledge among children. They helped them to understand the most difficult factors in an easy way without wasting lots of time .Although , it becomes a  need of a nation to run their civilization in a proper informative way by exchanging the thoughts without doing physical interaction, which is not possible on individual basis, excluded if necessary to somewhere.

Besides this, if we talk about the demerits of it ,has been observed that the maximum way of communication is computer based, if wrong message pass to people which may lead the disastrous results to mankind .Somehow, it provoke  the young generation in a negative way by giving more emphasis on promotion of advertisement which has no use.In fact some social media ,shows useless information only to increase their popularity.

In a nut shell, the mass communication is an essential need .It is being followed from the centuries and going to be popular from few decades, as the population going to increases tremendously and it is impossible to interact with each other separately. Human beings have always been curious and inclined towards trying new ways of adventure. People sense an adrenaline rush in their bodies trying something extreme and risky. Adventurous sports like bungy jumping, para-gliding, river rafting and many others can be classified as adventurous sports. Though, trying them is a lot risky and at times could be fatal as well but people are crazy for them and don’t mind risking their lives. Critics believe that such kind of sports should be banned but I think banning them will not be a solution. I will delve deeper into this in my following paragraphs discussing both the views.

Firstly, I believe, like many others that these sports should not be banned. People already have too much stress in their lives and people lives are more lethargic in a sense that people always restrict themselves in the four wall room and playing indoor computer games. Such kind of sports infuse new energy and passion in them.

However, critics believe that it is high time now to ban such sports as it leads to fatal accidents, incurable injuries just for the sake of mere adventure. There are numerous stories in the past which cement this view.

Overall, I believe that banning them will not be a solution as people will still try them in some form or the other without the notice of the government but it should be tried under the supervision of experts and deputing medical officers if need arises.

Travelling is by far one of the best ways to gather knowledge and gain education. Since the inception of a modern human civilizations, humans have travelled far off distances to gather knowledge and educate themselves. Although the means of transport were very few in earlier times but in the thirst to gain education and experiencing new cultures, the humans have never detered from their path. With the advancement of transport systems, humans can now travel around the world and absorb the wealth of knowledge the world has to offer.

Human values are the basic foundation of human character and plays a vital role. Person with good human values is respected in the society and has a charming personality and attitude. The human values according to some researchers, pass from our parents genes and such qualities therefore are embedded when we are born. In my following paragraph I will explain more on this with some examples.

When a person is born he has some qualities of his parents and more of these qualities are acquired with the passage of time and according to the environment. Person living in good environment where the parents are literate, are good members of the society, would tend to learn good qualities from his environment like honesty, integrity, dedication, generosity, ethics to name a few. For instance, a person born in a family of doctors would have more or less similar qualities of a doctor. Moreover, if a person is born in a family of criminals would have the similar mindset and hence the same human values. These human values are passed on from generation to generation and it helps shapes our society.

Learning these qualities is a life long process and we humans try to improve ourselves and adopt new qualities at different stages of life. As mentioned before, it commences from our birth and then followed by education, friends circle, work culture etcetera. Human values are taught by parents and teachers in every culture of the world in their own ways and the idea is to make their child a good person of the society so that he and the society can prosper simultaneously.

Law and order is highly important to make a society civilized. Law has been prevalent in our society from ages and law makers try to update it from time to time. Every constitution of any country has a separate law and order department  and it formulates the laws and rights of the citizens. Law undoubtedly has a huge impact on human behavior.   

Firstly, I will throw some light on the positive effects of law. The law gives people its rights irrespective of caste, creed or religion. People feel safe somehow as law and order is under the supervision of police and judiciary. If there is no law then there would be lot of crime in the society which will hamper human behavior by creating fear. We have fundamental rights which make even the less privileged people equal to the people of elite class. Such kind of law and rights are important in every society for the people to feel secure and behave like a responsible citizen. Law if broken can lead to some harsh punishments from the government and therefore, people think twice before involving themselves in any wrong activities.

There could be some negative effects as well. If the laws are too stringent and forceful then it will hamper the people freedom. For instance, Afghanistan and some other arab countries have laws which has created feelings of insecurity amongst its citizens. The higher authorities there have corrupt systems which has lead to crippling of the society.

To conclude, I would like to say that law and order should be made to make the world a better place to live and where people can enjoy equally their rights and therefore, the roles of government is of paramount importance here.

A: Technology plays a pivotal role in our lives and that is why we now live in a better world. The human curiosity about science has lead to many inventions in the past few decades. One of the latest invention in the field of technology is mobile phones and I will throw more light on its merits and demerits in my following paragraphs.

According to me, mobile phones have a great impact on humans in terms of connectivity and knowing the world. This small piece of device can be well integrated with softwares and internet to lead us to a new world. This device is being updated every year to add new features to make lives of humans more comfortable. For instance, students can now explore new mobile applications to learn and update themselves on their particular subject; share their views, ideas etcetera through Whatts app and other similar applications.

Although, there are many advantages of this technology but we cannot ignore its demerits too. Mobile phones can be misused by teenagers which can hamper their personal life as well as their career. A close watch of the parents and teachers is highly recommended. People prefer to talk to their friends on phones which is again leading to harshness in their relationships. We now like to do shopping through mobiles and want to keep ourselves inside the four walls which is leading to many chronic problems.

Communication is by far the most important aspect of a human being. We communicate by different means to express ourselves and to receive messages. It is an inseparable part of our lives and we are totally dependent on it to survive. Ways of communications have changed or in other ways improved tremendously over the past many years and there are both merits and demerits for the same, which I will elaborate in my following paragraphs.

If we rewind the clock 10 years back, then we would find that ways of communication were quite different from the present time as we used to have simple landline phones instead of mobile handsets, communication satellites were not very advanced, teaching methods were mostly classroom based etcetera. The major drawback with these kind of communication was that it was time consuming, not very informative etcetra.

The science has really taken a big leap in the last 10 years and the ways of communications has improved drastically. Simple landline phones have been transformed to highly sophisticated mobile phones which can be considered as a mini computer, as it consists of advanced technology softwares which have ultimately improved our communications. We can not only do the voice chat but also the video chat. Mobiles can be effectively connected to the internet and so communicating with any person in the world is easily possible just at a touch of button.

I want to conclude by saying that advantages of new technology in ways of communication are much more than the disadvantages but people can have varied views on this topic.

To be in the limelight is everybody’s dream. Famous personalities around the world are treated as divine or as idols. These personalities have a strong impact on the masses and people can die just to have a glimpse of them. No doubt these personalities earn a great deal of money and fame but it also comes at a price. I somehow believe that benefits eclipse the drawbacks of being a celebrity and I will discuss both the viewpoints in my following paragraphs.

Firstly, I would throw some light on the benefits of being a personality or celebrity. When a person becomes famous, he attracts business and people. Moreover, he has a constant flow of good handsome earnings by which he can purchase anything and live a life like a king. Their futures generations do not have to struggle much to lead a lavish lifestyle.

On the flip side of the coin, the celebrities also face routine troubles during their social meetings, film shootings, during matches. It becomes highly difficult for them to go to public places alone or with their families as they get surrounded by a mob for clicking photographs and getting autographs.  Second problem is that these celebrities tend to ignore their families or in other words could not spare quality time with their families as they are always engrossed in their work which ultimately leads to family disturbances and splitting of families.

I want to conclude by saying that, that these celebrities are also hungry for people’s attention and love and so they should also learn to strike the right balance by  mastering the art of dealing with crowds and fans.

To define happiness is really cumbersome and so academicians and philosophers has put forth innumerable definitions of it. Happiness depends upon various factors, viz, money, freedom, family/ friends etcetera. Although this may be true to some extent but I also believe that happiness is just a state of person’s mind at any given situation. Some people believe that teenage years are the happiest days in one’s life, whereas, some have totally different opinion. I agree with open arms to the former set of people’s opinion and will throw light on both view points in my following paragraphs.

When I think about my own teenage years, it reminds me of the time when there was only fun, great buddies, freedom to do anything etcetera. It will not be wrong to say that teenage life years are the golden years of one’s life. One can enjoy total freedom by roaming with friends, no pressure of the job and responsibilities. One does not have to take life too seriously or have to worry about finances or job satisfaction.

To my utter surprise, there are critics who believe that adulthood brings more enjoyment and people in this stage of life are happier than in their teenage years. There are many factors that prompts them to stick to this viewpoint. Some people may have faced tough time during their teenage years may be due to lack of basic facilities, education and could have faced financial difficulties. So when these people grow up and earn handsome salaries, have access to all modern facilities and have all luxury items in their platter, so psychologically they would be happier at that particular stage of life and so critics tend to vote for it.  

I want to conclude by saying that it depends completely on person to person how they feel about this debatable topic.

Instructions , whether formal or written always play a crucial role in
any form of examination. Clear instructions to students before
examination, helps them in lot of ways. Let us discuss in detail about
their importance.
In my opinion, written and formal instructions are necessary for
students before start of the examination. Written instructions is
written on examination paper and formal instruction is normally
general instructions uttered in voice by examiner, which helps them to
keep students in discipline along with warning them to refraining
themselves from cheating. One of the aspect of instruction is to help
students in time management. Students can very well organize their
time for writing the exam and can divide time for various sections as
per the priority to complete their examination within the time limit
which includes revision of the answer sheet. It not only helps them to
eradicate unintentional mistakes but also guide them to achieve high
scores. These instructions keep students in discipline while writing
their exam.
Moreover ,  With rapidly changing examination techniques , written and
formal instructions are very important to enable students to
understand the expectations from them within shortest possible time.
In online examinations with multiple short questions, systematic
instructions keep the student attentive, focused and help them to
deliver in stringent time lines.
In a nutshell , we can say that instructions in examinations gives

Climate change is a hot topic these days amongst the science and political fraternity. It is high time that the government as well people should start taking this menace seriously. Climate change definition as put forth by some academicians or scientists is that – it is the rapid change in the climate, weather due to human involvement which is leading to change in weather patterns, melting of glaciers, increase in the temperature of Earth, Ozone layer depletion etcetera.  I would delve deeper into this topic in my following paragraph.

Firstly, we need to understand why the climate change is taking place and why we need to be serious about it. One of the reasons for climate change is pollution which is caused by growing number of vehicles, emission of harmful poisonous gases from industries, deforestation to name a few. Increasing pollution results in increasing Co2 levels which ultimately leads to global warming. Now, scientists all across the globe have already predicted that if the global warming keeps on continuing with this pace, then that day is not far when the whole Earth will be submerged in the oceans and it will be a water grave for humans.  We live in a century of technology but surprisingly, still we don’t have a concrete way to tackle this problem.  

Governments from all across the globe are spending billions of dollars for research to combat this problem. One of the solution which I believe can be worth trying would be using alternative source for  fuelling our vehicles which are eco friendly. Moreover, rather then using our own vehicles, we can walk or cycle for small distances and for long journeys we can either car pool or use public transports. Government should conduct rallies and awareness programmes to enlighten the masses about the ill effects of climate change.

To conclude, I would like to say that it is our own duty to save mother Earth and save our future generations. Every single drop is possible to fill the whole ocean, likewise, every single step to save our climate will be worth it.

2) Listen carefully to each and every word spoken in the lecture. This will help you in repeat sentence as well as in Re-Tell lecture.

3) Alternatively you can watch English movies to improve your listening skills.

4) When attempting Re-Tell lecture focus on key points mentioned by the lecturer and make notes accordingly. This will help also help you in summarize spoken text.

5) For dictation - It is a good practice to remember the sentence. Alternatively you may also write keywords so that it may help you to write a complete sentence.

6) For multiple choice single answer and multiple answers, read the question thoroughly and skim through the options given. Keep a high focus on every point mentioned by the speaker and find your right answer in the options given. You may also use elimination method wherein you eliminate the options which are totally different and for the rest of the options you may still make a calculative guess.

7) For Highlight correct summary, you are given 4 options normally. Skim through the options and then listen to the lecture carefully. I would not suggest to make points, just listen it carefully and then look for the option to find the correct summary out of the options available. Believe me it really works.
