Mass communication is the process by which a person or a group of people creates a message and transmit it through some type of medium to a large audience . The medium can be newspaper,  social media, radio, etcetera .The mass communication has profound effect on society  .Although it has demerits and merits which is I am going to explain in following paragraphs. 

First and foremost , now a days the mass communication plays a significant role in transmitting thoughts as well as it becomes a resource to gain   knowledge. The media   is a great source of mass communication. It can help people to understand but is happening around the world and even in a more informative   way .People get  daily information by newspaper given by the hawkers on very cheap rates . Even though, the communication by radio helps physically challenged people to gain more information which is not accessible by other means. Moreover, the mass communication has a vast career opportunities, without age bar. The mediums of communication plays an important role to enhance the general  knowledge among children. They helped them to understand the most difficult factors in an easy way without wasting lots of time .Although , it becomes a  need of a nation to run their civilization in a proper informative way by exchanging the thoughts without doing physical interaction, which is not possible on individual basis, excluded if necessary to somewhere.

Besides this, if we talk about the demerits of it ,has been observed that the maximum way of communication is computer based, if wrong message pass to people which may lead the disastrous results to mankind .Somehow, it provoke  the young generation in a negative way by giving more emphasis on promotion of advertisement which has no use.In fact some social media ,shows useless information only to increase their popularity.

In a nut shell, the mass communication is an essential need .It is being followed from the centuries and going to be popular from few decades, as the population going to increases tremendously and it is impossible to interact with each other separately. But there is a need to clean up the mediums of communication or keep on eye.
